Re-Enactments in Midsomer Murders

Already watched: Pilot, Seasons 01-11, as well as information that I have already compiled before.

Note: There isn’t much to discover just yet – essays will be published gradually from late May. Until autumn, think of this more as a gateway than a library.

Sorted in order of episodes

  • Film recordings for The House of Satan (06×04: A Tale of Two Hamlets)
  • Medieval Festival with jousting tournament (08×04: Bantling Boy)
  • Barbara and Leslie Flux always dress in more traditional clothing at home. Their aim – much to the annoyance of museum curator Giles Cato – is not historical accuracy or academic rigour, but rather to recreate the atmosphere of the past in order to understand it more deeply. (09×01: The House in the Woods)
  • Most spectators at the Skimmington Fayre are in costume – not from the post-WWI era, but in styles reminiscent of Tudor fashion, complete with white coifs (09×05: Four Funerals and a Wedding)
  • Film recordings for Scarlet Pimpernell (10×07: They Seek Him Here)
  • The First Day of the Battle at the Somme in Midsomer Parva (11×01: Shot at Dawn)
  • Wild West Show (13×03: Blood on the Sattle)
  • ‚The Big Battle‘ (Battle of Naseby) (15×01: The Dark Rider)
  • Unveiling of a statue of Sayers by Queen Victoria (Joyce) and fight between Sayers vs Heenan (13×06: The Noble Art)
  • A WWII-themed event with period-appropriate dress, hairdressers, music, and plenty of Union Jacks on the walls (19×01: The Village That Rose from the Dead)
  • Gorgeous Georgians: For a few days, Regency and Jane Austen enthusiasts come together to dress and behave as if they were living in the Regency period. One evening features a formal ball, open also to guests from outside the circle of participants. (19×05: Death by Persuation)
